The story of an artist
We were asked to design a font for an artist. My inspiration? Sam Francis (1923 –1994), an American painter. He died the year I was born, which was a strange experience. But what intrigued me most was his dripping technique. This lead to the idea of creating my own visualizing-style with a pencil, water and a water pistol.
Design
The result is a poster with the whole alphabet and another poster with a typical slogan for Sam Francis: ‘Be satisfied with the moon, but aim for the stars’.
